Description

Simparica is an chewable form of simparica that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration and has been clinically tested to support improved absorption. It is formulated to contain both Simparica and Simparica with a palatable taste.

How does it work?

In an effort to increase the absorption and oral availability of a particular active ingredient, we work with our manufacturers to blend the active ingredient into Simparica chewable. When the active ingredient is suspended in the chewable matrix, it is exposed to the gastrointestinal environment more readily, giving your pet a double advantage. In addition, Simparica chewable provides a palatable solution to the challenges of chewing for many dogs.

Suggested use:

Feed Simparica chewable as a recommended dose once daily.

Dogs weighing up to 17.5 pounds may take 1 to 2 chewable.

Dogs weighing over 17.5 pounds may take 3 chewable.

For dogs experiencing discomfort or distress, use of chewable Simparica should be closely monitored.

If administration of chewable Simparica is not tolerable, or is not effective, alternate modes of administration may be considered.

Dogs should not be fed more than a daily recommended dose.

Dogs must be on a constant feeding schedule.

Do not give additional doses of Simparica to replace lost doses.

Simparica chewable is formulated to be consumed at room temperature.

Storage: Store at room temperature, with access to fresh air.

When mixed with Simparica, the taste of Simparica chewable is unchanged.

Simparica chewable may be mixed with Simparica tablets, Simparica Tablets for Suckers, Simparica Pills and Simparica Granules. When mixing Simparica chewable with Simparica tablets, Simparica Pills or Simparica Granules, the dose and the recommended frequency of administration are the same. The recommended dose of Simparica chewable must be administered in a single dose. Administration of more than one chewable should be avoided. When the active ingredient is suspended in the chewable matrix, it is exposed to the gastrointestinal environment more readily, giving your pet a double advantage. In addition, Simparica chewable provides a palatable solution to the challenges of chewing for many dogs.

For more information on the safety, dosage and administration of Simparica Chewable and Simparica tablets, Simparica tablets for suckers, Simparica pills or Simparica granules, please read the Simparica Prescribing Information.

To prevent poisoning, store the Simparica chewable away from young children, cats, dogs, and other household pets.

WARNINGS: Do not substitute or administer orally to cats and dogs. Simparica chewable may cause irritation of the oral mucosa in cats. Do not give to dogs that have gastric or duodenal ulcers. If Simparica chewable causes irritation of the oral mucosa in cats, or if irritation is caused in a dog, stop administering Simparica chewable and consult a veterinarian. In some cases, irritation may be reduced or prevented by administering the drug at a low dose rate. If vomiting occurs after administration of Simparica chewable, give activated charcoal. For other side effects and adverse reactions, contact the manufacturer.

Simparica is also referred to as “Simparica-L/M.”

What are the possible side effects or adverse reactions of Simparica chewable?

Simparica chewable may cause irritation of the oral mucosa in cats, and, in rare cases, gastrointestinal ulceration in cats and dogs. In cats, the signs of irritation can be seen within a few minutes, following administration, and are often followed by vomiting.
