The Chula Vista Water District is a local water utility and is a supplier of potable water to the city of Chula Vista, parts of Mission Valley and the El Presidio neighborhood.

The construction is part of a plan that was approved by the Chula Vista City Council in 2000.

The goal was to provide the city of Chula Vista with better quality and more reliable water and a reduced system of pumps.

The project has many components, including new towers, improved pressure systems, water wells and more.
