Me: *looking up from my phone* "Do we need to go to the vet?"
Husband: "No."
Me: "Well that's good cause I got a call from work that we're doing an early shift and I'm already on call...I mean, it's not like I can go home or I can leave my dog at home and just be there if something happens, but I can't leave my dog at work, cause we won't have enough time to get her there and back home, and then I'd have to come here in case I can't get to you... I guess this is our first experience with something like this, so I think I need to make sure we know what we're doing."
Husband: "Yeah, I just have to make sure you don't have to come out tonight because I can't be home and I can't afford to have the place shut down for a day, or I'll lose the house."
*sigh*

I am so sorry that I have to be so annoying and I don't know what I'm doing. But I'm doing what I know how to do, and if I didn't know, I'd learn.
I love my dog, and if she's sick and I can't take her to the vet and we can't get her to the vet for any other reason (like I sd, we're working late...), then I have to know that she'll be ok.
I know it's hard to hear it and see me doing it, but it's the only thing that I can do. So I'm doing it. I'm doing the best I know how to do and I have to do it.
I guess what I'm saying is:
I'm sorry about your job, and that your dog has to come with us, but I can't afford to not do it and have to deal with it the rest of my life.
I have no idea how to work this job, because I have no idea what I'm doing and I never have and I've always done things the way they had to be done, even when they didn't have to be done.
