Can you spray bactine on dogs or cats without an over the counter spray? I have 2 little poodles and I wanted to give them a bactine treatment, but I wanted to know if I could use a bactine without having to use a flea/tick over the counter solution first and what would be the safest way to apply it?

Thanks for the info, but I'm not very educated on how to get this spray on.

I just want to know if I can give them bactine and get the treatment on them without using an over the counter spray first.

What are you spraying your dogs with? What type? If it has to be an over the counter spray, you can still use bactine as a shampoo.

I don't recommend spraying a bactine solution directly on the animals.

It is much easier and safer to give the dogs a bath, especially a bath that has borax added to it. Then let the borax work its magic. And keep the dogs in a closed area for at least 15 minutes, then open the door and let the dogs go to their new normal.

Then make sure you vaccinate your dogs (at least once a year). Vaccinations protect them from many of the diseases and parasites that would normally be treated with bactine.

I would like to get a bactine on them, but I would like to avoid having to have an over the counter spray first.

You can give your dogs bactine shampoo, but you want to be sure to give them a bath as well, with borax and or another detergent. That will wash the bacteria and parasites away before they can have a chance to attach to the dogs.

But borax is not going to kill any of the fleas or ticks, so it won't help with that. And you don't want your dogs to eat the fleas and ticks.
